I’m happy to join forces with Roxani Krystalli (University of St. Andrews), Gilberto Mazzolli (Konstanz University), and Sandra Fluhrer (FAU Nürnberg-Erlangen) in a research project supported by the British Academy and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
This collaboration, rooted in practices of care and "arts of tending," seeks to address social and environmental crises by exploring how humans engage with different non-human life forms. We’ll each focus on one form of life, documenting encounters through diverse methods such as interviews, photography, and textual analysis. The goal is to illustrate the creative and varied ways tending takes shape in the Anthropocene, fostering a deeper understanding of coexistence in challenging times. I’m excited to bring my perspectives to this interdisciplinary endeavor and learn from such inspiring colleagues.
